Erica Davidson Named Apollo Chemical Director of Purchasing

Erica Davidson has been named Director of Purchasing for the Apollo Chemical Division of Mount Vernon Chemicals, effective 8/15/22.  Erica began her Apollo career 22 years ago, progressing through multiple lab assignments and has been the Apollo Chemical QC Manager, where she has been a critical part of our production & product development teams.  Please join us in congratulating Erica on her new role and for her continued service to Mount Vernon Chemicals.

Erica is married with two children.  She enjoys spending time with her husband & kids on their farm.  She also devotes some of her spare time to sponsoring the charity she help found in Reidsville, NC.

Jameel May Announced as Apollo Chemical Quality Control Manager

Apollo Chemical, Division of Mount Vernon Chemicals, today announced Jameel May as Quality Control Manager, effective immediately. Jameel joined Apollo in November 2021, progressing through several QC roles, most recently as QC Supervisor. He holds a degree from North Carolina A&T State University. 

Jameel is married with four children.  He enjoys spending time with his family, watching football & following his investments.

Jason Seastrunk Joins Apollo Chemical

We're very happy to announce that Jason Seastrunck will join our Apollo team this month taking a role in Product & Sales Management.  Jason has spent his career in the textile & chemical industries and comes to us from Bozzetto, after his working at Cotton, Inc. and Cone Denim. He will be located in Burlington. 

Jason is married, has a daughter, and enjoys playing golf.

Mark Mussman is new Business Development Manager

Apollo is excited to welcome Mark Mussman to the Mount Vernon/Apollo family as our Business Development Manager. Mark has spent his career in the textile & chemical industries, starting at Cone Mills-Carlisle Finishing plant, then working with Sequa/Omnova Chemicals, DyStar & Bozzetto in top management roles. Mark & his wife Susan live in Central, SC and have two sons & three grandchildren. Mark enjoys golf, reading and is a passionate Clemson fan.

Misty Koch named Director of Human Resources

Misty Koch has been named Director of Human Resources for Mount Vernon Chemicals with responsibilities for both Apollo Chemicals and FCI Technology. Misty began her 27 year career at Apollo as our receptionist in 1995. In addition to her new responsibilities, she will maintain her role as Sales and Marketing Coordinator/Customer Service Manager. She is married with 2 adult children, and has a 3 year old grandson and a granddaughter due to arrive at the end of May.  Playing with her grandson keeps her busy, and in her ‘spare’ time she enjoys painting, scrapbooking, and gardening.

Eric Rechtin Joins Apollo Chemical

Apollo Chemical is happy to announce that Eric Rechtin has joined the Apollo team! Eric has assumed the role of Chempax Support Manager/Cost Manager. Joining Apollo in January, he has been working with Deborah Gates to assure a smooth transition. Eric has a BS in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

George Sembert Retires

George Sembert has retired from Apollo Chemical.  George was an essential team member of the Apollo team and was the key driver in helping us control raw material costs and maintaining continuous materials supply for our products.  We are happy to see George embark on a well-deserved retirement, but will truly miss him.  Apollo purchasing duties are currently being managed by Richard Barnhardt and Chuck Phillips. 

Deborah Gates Retires

Deborah Gates retired 3/31 after 15 years with Apollo Chemical. In her role as Chempax Support Manager/Cost Manager, she worked with every member of the team. Her keen attention to detail and her thirst for answers helped resolve many situations that led us to better performance. We miss her already, but we are happy in knowing she is pursuing some of her passions.

Ryan Brown was named the Employee of the Fourth Quarter as well as Employee of the Year for the Apollo Burlington location for 2019. Ryan was recognized for his initiative, proactive attention to detail, excellent attitude and strong performance.
We congratulate Ryan. He has received a commemorative plaque and his name was added to the Company plaque listing other outstanding employees that have previously won this honor.
